‘A Truly Great Guy’: Virgin River Actor Stewart McLean Found Dead Following Homicide Investigation

The entertainment world is in shock today as authorities confirm that Stewart McLean, the beloved actor known for his roles on Virgin River and Arrow, has been found dead. The discovery comes just days after the 45-year-old actor was reported missing, with police now treating the case as a homicide.

The Tragic Discovery

Canada’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) officially announced on Friday, May 22, that McLean’s remains were located in the Lions Bay area of British Columbia. The actor had last been seen at his home in Lions Bay on May 15, leading to a missing persons report filed with the Squamish Royal Canadian Mounted Police on May 18.

“As the investigation continues to unfold, homicide investigators are working to collect and analyze evidence, review CCTV footage and conduct interviews to build a timeline of Mr. McLean’s activities,” said IHIT Cpl. Esther Tupper. Police currently believe that the actor’s disappearance was an “isolated incident”.

Remembering a Talented Star

Beyond his television success, those who knew McLean are remembering him for his character off-screen. His talent agency, Lucas Talent Inc., shared a moving tribute on Facebook, written by his long-time agent, Jodi Caplan.

“He was always such a pleasure to deal with dedicated, professional, eager, and endlessly funny,” the statement read. “Every message says the same thing: what a truly great guy he was, and how deeply he will be missed”.

Throughout his career, McLean appeared in several popular series, including Virgin River, Arrow, Happy Face, and Murder in a Small Town.
