NEED TO KNOW
- Gisele Bündchen posted a rare photo of her 18-month-old son and husband Joaquim Valente to mark Father’s Day in Brazil.
- The father and son wore matching jiu-jitsu uniforms in the sweet Instagram Stories snapshot.
- The post comes just days after Bündchen shared another candid photo of herself working out alongside her toddler on a family boat trip.
Gisele Bündchen is celebrating fatherhood, Brazilian style.
The supermodel, 46, shared a rare glimpse of her husband, Joaquim Valente, 38, and their 18-month-old son on Instagram Stories in honor of Father’s Day in Brazil, which falls in early August rather than June, as it does in the U.S. In the photo, father and son are decked out in matching jiu-jitsu gis, both grinning for the camera.
Bündchen kept the caption simple and heartfelt, writing in Portuguese that she loved them and wished them a happy Father’s Day.
Valente, who runs a jiu-jitsu academy with his brothers in Miami, has built much of his public profile around the sport, and dressing his toddler son in a matching uniform tracks with a training tradition common among Brazilian jiu-jitsu families, where children are often introduced to the mats and the gi well before they can read.
A String of Rare Family Moments
This latest post follows a handful of unusually candid shares from Bündchen in recent days. On Aug. 8, she posted a photo from a family boat trip showing herself mid-workout on the deck, weights in hand and a resistance band wrapped around her legs, while her son stood beside her mimicking the movements.
She used the moment to reflect on parenting, writing that it’s touching to watch how early kids start picking up on what the adults around them do. She added a shorter reflection about the responsibility of setting an example, and closed by calling motherhood a gift.
Bündchen and Valente, a jiu-jitsu instructor she began dating in 2023, welcomed their son in February 2025. It was her first child with Valente and her third overall she also shares son Benjamin, 16, and daughter Vivian, 13, with ex-husband Tom Brady, whom she was married to for over a decade before their 2022 divorce.
The couple has been notably private about their youngest child, rarely showing his face and never publicly sharing his name, a choice that stands out given how much of Bündchen’s life otherwise plays out on social media. Even so, she’s carved out an ongoing pattern of low-key updates a birthday milestone here, a candid workout there that give fans small windows into their day-to-day life without fully opening the door.
Back in January, Bündchen marked her son’s first birthday with a photo of him seated on a toy pony beside a “Happy Birthday” balloon, thanking him for the joy he’d brought to their family over the past year.
And in July, she documented a family vacation to Tahiti that included her son holding hands with her in the ocean, getting scooped up by his older half-siblings on a boat, and being lifted above the water by Valente as a stingray glided past. Bündchen capped that trip off by calling it a special place, in both English and Portuguese.
Between the tropical getaway, the workout snapshot, and now the Father’s Day tribute, the past few weeks have offered an unusually steady stream of family content from a star who typically keeps her youngest child largely out of the spotlight a shift that suggests Bündchen may be growing more comfortable letting fans in, even if only in small doses.
