This year’s 4th of July is filled with fireworks, parades, festive events and family-friendly fun all across the Carolinas and Georgia.

America awaits with a grand celebration to celebrate its Independence Day in 2026!America is very special celebrating Independence Day in 2026!

The 4th of July is one of the largest holidays in the United States in which communities enjoy patriotic parades, wonderful fireworks, live music and food festivals, and family fun together. With Independence Day right around the corner, cities and towns throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia are getting ready to make contributing ways for visitors of all ages.

From 4th of July parades, to huge fireworks shows, to outdoor concerts to family entertainment, there are dozens of events for this year’s 4th of July holiday all over the region.

Charlotte Area Celebrations

The Charlotte area offers a wide variety of 4th of July entertainment and activities to enjoy over the holiday weekend, from amusement park celebration to downtown festivals and community parades.

Carowinds Star-Spangled Nights

There will be patriotic entertainment, awesome rides and Carolina Harbor Waterpark at Carowinds during Independence Day, July 3rd–July 5th. The popular Star-Spangled Nights Fireworks Spectacular starts each evening at 9:30 p.m.

Families can get on board for the holiday on July 3 at Stumptown Park. They will serve items from the food trucks, inflatables, kids activities and live entertainment, before a free fireworks show will take place late in the evening from the Mecklenburg County Sportsplex.

Celebrating Independence Day at Fort Mill

Throughout the evening, local vendors, children’s craft activities, patriotic contests, historical exhibits and educational presentations will be enjoyed at Fort Mill’s celebration. This event is both family oriented and for history buffs.

A red, white, and Belmont…

As part of Belmont’s Friday Night Live concert series, it’s back to Stowe Park for the annual celebration. Lawn chairs and blankets should be brought by guests who are encouraged to relax out of doors while taking in an evening of live entertainment.

Harrisburg Celebration

Harrisburg’s 4th of July celebrations continue over two days, offering carnival rides, live entertainment, amusement rides and fireworks on the fourth day, starting at 9:30 p.m.

There are also a number of nearby communities that are planning daytime activities appropriate for families.

The U.S. National Whitewater Center will be holding a two-day event with outdoor activities such as rafting, yoga, live performances, and a trail race.

Traditional floats, organizations, marching groups and locals will participate in the 4th of July parades in Waxhaw, Indian Trail and Lincolnton.

Ballantyne’s family festival is catering to music, food vendors, activities for the neighborhood and is designed to keep everyone together during the holiday weekend.

Evening Fireworks Shows

Other cities in the Charlotte metro area will end July 4 with big displays of public fireworks.

Rock Hill Red, White & Boom

Food trucks, local vendors and a beer garden precede fireworks, which light up the evening sky in Rock Hill’s annual celebration.

Monroe Independence Day Celebration

Downtown Monroe hosts a festival on Main Street complete with eating contests, fireworks, bounce houses, eating vendors and carnival games.

Gastonia Celebration

Later in the evening, fireworks will light up the sky while the family entertainment, kids activities, local vendors and food trucks lead to the award-winning holiday event.

Charlotte Stars and Stripes Spectacular

The biggest party happens at Truist Field with live entertainment by the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and the open, often-completed by the highly-anticipated WBT SkyShow, fireworks show.

South Carolina Celebrations

South Carolina’s communities are all ready to put on a big show for the Fourth of July, featuring patriotic celebrations and local entertainment.

Greenville County

There will be a number of Greenville fun week activities in Greenville County this week.

There will be food trucks, activities for the kids and later on fireworks in Fountain Inn.

Nationally acclaimed musicians perform free music in Simpsonville before fireworks end the evening at Simply Freedom Fest.

The Greenville Symphony Orchestra will be marshalling a concert in the outdoors at Unity Park with food trucks on hand.

The Independence Day Celebration at BridgeWay Station includes a vendor marketplace, inflatables, family activities and live music.

Sports enthusiasts can also attend the Greenville Drive special 4th of July celebration, which will include games, competitions and fireworks after the games.

Anderson County

Anderson County has several options for residents to enjoy a community event, such as the America’s 5K race, the Freedom Celebration festivals, live concerts, community cookouts, classic car shows, golf cart parades and family games.

At the end of the day, several churches and community groups will also be putting on community parties with food trucks, inflatables and evening fireworks.

Spartanburg County

The annual Red, White & Boom festival held in Spartanburg features live music in the downtown area, a patriotic parade, family activities and fireworks.

Other events around the county feature entertainment, food vendors and children’s activities.

Laurens, Pickens and Oconee Counties

Local festivals in smaller communities across these counties honor the holiday through carnival rides, children’s games and contests, concerts, food trucks, historical demonstrations and fireworks.

These events are accompanied by vendor markets, ice cream stands and family fun outdoors.

Western North Carolina Events

By now communities all over western North Carolina have been making preparations for their own Independence Day celebrations.

music, local food vendors and evening entertainment are all being offered as part of Rutherfordton’s America 250th celebration.

Hendersonville has one of the largest concerts in the area along with food trucks, inflatables, games and fireworks.

The two-day celebration of Brevard’s got a mix of old school, Independence Day style and a car show, a foam party, a hot dog eating contest and live entertainment.

Georgia Holiday Celebrations

Some Georgia communities marking the 4th of July too, with family-friendly events.

The Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza at Stephens County will feature splash pads, games, balloon artists, face painting and fireworks.

Centralhatchee arranges music, inflatables, baking events and community events.

The weekend is completed by Franklin’s Summer Fest, which includes outdoor performances, entertainment and food vendors.

Tips for Enjoying the 4th of July

No matter where Independence Day is being celebrated, it is strongly advised to arrive early! The more popular events tend to have thousands in attendance, and parking and seating can be more challenging later in the day.

Lawn chairs and blankets are also a great addition, along with sunscreen, bottled water and insect repellent for outdoor festivals. Families watching a fireworks display will likely need hearing protection for small children.

Also, please consult local weather forecasts prior to travel – summer thunderstorms sometimes cause a delay or rescheduling of outside events.

These fireworks shows are still the focus for many festivities, but local authorities keep letting people know to enjoy the fireworks shows instead of using fireworks at home whenever possible.

As families and visitors have many options scattered throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia to toast to Independence Day, the devout ‘Patriots’ can begin camping on July 4th and continue the festivities into the weekend. Whether it’s dazzling fireworks, patriotic parades, outdoor concerts, food festivals, amusement parks, or community events, almost every city has specific activities it is holding.

This year holiday fun, tradition, and memorable experiences for the public of all ages are sure to come whether you are celebrating in Charlotte, Greenville, Rock Hill, Hendersonville or any of the many smaller communities in the area.
